What is the difference between embroidery and printing on workwear?

The Embroidered method stitches your logo directly into the fabric using thread.

Embroidery creates a raised, textured, premium finish that's extremely durable and is widely seen as the professional standard for uniforms.

Although we prefer to use a premium direct to film print process for our detailed prints, there are many other methods available.

Screen printing, Direct to film printing, direct to garment printing and vinyl print.

Brand It Essex is very experienced in multiple decoration methods and knowing when to apply each so don't be afraid to ask.

Is embroidery or printing better for workwear?

For most workwear including polos, fleeces, hoodies, jackets, and sweatshirts, embroidery is the preferred choice.

It is extremely durable, looks more premium, and handles repeated washing extremely well.
Printing is better suited to t-shirts, hi-vis garments, back prints, and
designs with lots of colour or fine detail.

Many of our customers use both
across their uniform range. We will always recommend the right method for each garment and logo combination.

Will embroidery or printing fade, crack, or peel over time?

Embroidery will not fade, crack, or peel. The thread is stitched into the fabric and will last as long as the garment
itself.

Our printed garments use high-quality methods designed for repeated
washing. These premium grade transfers are guaranteed by the manufacturer for 65+ washes.

Following the care instructions on each garment keeps both embroidery
and print looking sharp for as long as possible.

Can I have my logo embroidered on any garment?

Almost any garment can be embroidered, provided there is a flat, stable area for the design to sit on.

Polos, fleeces, hoodies, sweatshirts, jackets, bodywarmers, caps, and bags are all excellent candidates.
Very lightweight fabrics or heavily textured surfaces may be better suited to
print and we will advise if that is the case for any garment in your order.

What branding positions are available?

The "Industry Standard" for a logo tends to be a left chest logo.

Other common branding
positions are right chest, full back, left sleeve, right sleeve, and a cap or front.

You can add multiple branding positions to a single garment.
When you order, select your preferred positions and upload your logo and we will include all placements in your visual proof.

Can I have embroidery on one position and print on another on the same garment?

Yes. Many customers have a small embroidered chest logo and a larger printed design on the back.

This combination works particularly well on outerwear, hoodies, and workwear jackets. We will produce
proofs for each position so you can approve the full look before production.

What file format do I need to provide my logo?

For embroidery, we accept almost any file format including JPEG, PNG, PDF, EPS, or
AI.

We convert your logo into a digitised stitch file as part of your order.

For print, vector files (PDF, EPS, or AI) give the sharpest results. If you only
have a JPEG or PNG, send us what you have and we will advise. We offer a vector
conversion service for £25 if a redraw is needed.
